Jeffrey Gibbs was born in rural Florida, but has since made his way around the world, living as a teacher and writer in Japan, India, and now Turkey. His new book, The Peril of Remembering Nice Things, will be released in February of 2024. It's a memoir about his father's suicide and his ancestors' role in one of the most brutal race crimes in Georgia's history.

He earned his MFA in Creative Writing at the University of Arizona where he was fortunate enough to study under visiting writer Barbara Kingsolver and Oprah Book Club author, Aurelie Sheehan.
